Lake Forest is on the southwest side of Ann Arbor, just west of the municipal airport on Ann Arbor-Saline Road at exit 175 off I-94.

The golf course was built on a large, natural tract of land and is primarily a links-style layout along tall fescue-lined fairways with a wee bit of woodlands on the back nine. From the tips, the course stretches to 6,620 yards, 71.8/135 course/slope ratings, and 4 additional sets of tees, designed by Mark Walley in 1999.
