The University of Michigan’s Blue Golf Course is on the south side of campus at the southwest corner of Stadium and State Streets directly across the street from the “Big House” with the Ann Arbor skyline in the distance.
The layout is a traditional parkland design along broad, rolling contours with a generous amount of fingered and conventional sand bunker complexes along the fairways and fortifying the subtle but challenging greens. The closing 18th returns to the clubhouse with the Ann Arbor skyline as the backdrop and provides a 180 yard carry over the only water hazard on the golf course surrounding the green-an imposing finish. There’s four sets of tees overall with the back Wolverine tees playing to 6,730 yards, 72.8/135, course/slope ratings. The golf course is a classic Alister MacKenzie and Perry Maxwell joint design from the 1930s that was restored to its original routing by Arthur Hills in 1994. Coincidentally, Ohio State University's Scarlet Golf Course was designed by MacKenzie as well.
