Lake Hills is within a residential community on the north side of Billings, off Wicks Lane.

The course is a classic, parkland-style layout along tree-lined fairways over slightly rolling land with numerous water features but few sand bunkers. George Schneiter designed it in the 1950s. From the tips, it plays to 6,802 yards, 71.9/114 course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
