The Lakeshore Golf Course is on the outskirts of Taylorville on the south side of town on a slight peninsula jutting out into Lake Taylorville.

The layout provides for unique and separated hilly, tree-lined fairways with five holes directly on the west bank of the Lake. There are ponds impacting play on a few holes, numerous blind shots and doglegs, and sand bunkers, primarily greenside. It was designed by William J. Spear and, from the tips, plays to 6,778 yards, 72.0/117, course/slope ratings with two shorter tee boxes.
