The Lancaster Golf Club is an hour south of downtown Charlotte off I-77 at Lancaster Highway to the east.

The golf course has a traditional layout, winding along tree-lined fairways over rolling terrain without housing or development along the course. There's sand bunkering, mostly greenside, and numerous ponds and streams as hazards. It's a unique, classic front nine by Donald Ross, with the backside designed by Russell Breeden in the 1960s. It plays to 6,538 yards from the tips, 71.6/132, course/slope ratings; the White tees are more manageable at 6,099 yards, 69.9/127 with three shorter tees.
