Lyman is located about 30 minutes south of Hartford off I-91 at exit 15 in Middlefield with two 18 holes courses and a 9 hole practice course.

The original course journeys through the middle of an orchard. It has a mix of open and tree lined fairways over rolling hills through wetlands and woodlands. The fairways are mostly wide off the tee but with 44 sand bunker complexes overall and featuring water hazards on seven holes of the back side. From the tips the course can play to 7,011 yards, 73.3/132, course/slope ratings with three shorter tees, a Robert Trent Jones Sr. layout built in the 1960s.

The Player, a Gary Player design, is a shot maker's layout where accuracy is rewarded over distance. The layout requires placement off the tee over and along the hilly fairways with its share of blind shots, 34 sand traps, and modest greens. There's four sets of tees with the tips playing to 6,725 yards, 72.7/133, course/slope ratings.
