Madden's is 12 miles northwest of Brainerd, surrounded by lakes and deep woodlands with 63 holes of golf-three, 18-hole layouts, and the Social par 3 layout.

The Classic traverses rolling, tree-lined terrain with an overall elevation change of 60 feet. It's a traditional layout bordering deep forest-lined fairways with wetlands and water hazards in play on 13 holes. It is a nationally regarded layout that was actually designed by an unheralded golf superintendent, Scott Hoffmann, in 1997. It plays to 7,102 yards, 75.6/142 course/slope ratings from the back tees with five shorter tes.

Madden's Pine Beach East Course is the original layout from the 1920s, winding along tree-lined fairways with several water hazards and small greens well-defended by sand traps. It's a shorter course with two sets of tees, with the back tees playing to 6,101 yards, 69.1/118, course/slope ratings, designed by James Dalgleish.

Madden's Pine Beach West Course is shorter yet at 5,070 yards from the tips, 69.4/103, course/slope ratings. It's a par 67, executive layout along tree-lined fairways leading to small greens, designed by Jim Madden, one of resort's founders.
