The Mallard Golf Club is on the southeast side of Lake Charles on McNeese Street on the former Chennault Air Force Base.

The layout is a wide open and treeless design over slightly undulating terrain. The primary features are broad fairways and massive greens, an abundance of sand bunkers, and numerous water hazards. There's five sets of tees from 5,385 yard to 7,181 at the tips, the middle white tees play to 6,317 yards, 70.1/118, course/slope ratings, designed by Jeff Blume.
