Manistee National is just south of Manistee on Grant Highway, between Traverse City and Muskegon. It has two 18-hole layouts.

The Retreat is a traditional layout carved through a hardwood and white pine forest along a mix of narrow and broad fairways with several forced carries over water features. It can play to 6,517 yards, 72.1/131, course/slope ratings off the tips with two shorter tees, designed by Gary Pulsipher

The Revenge is a challenging target layout along broad fairways winding through wetlands and forests over a moderate elevation change. It can play to 6,654 yards, 73.0/147, course/slope from the back tees with four shorter tees, designed by Jerry Matthews.

There's also a short 9-hole, par 3 course with total distances ranging from as many as 1,044 yards to as little as 463 yards for children.
