Maryland National is on US 40 just north of Frederick, 50 minutes from either Baltimore or Washington.

The holes vary throughout, with a number of elevation changes along mounded and sloping fairways and a series of tight landing areas, while others are more generous. There are a couple of blind shots off the tee and several where mounding hides the green from the fairway, but otherwise, it's a fairly straightforward layout. The greens are small with slight undulations, sloping and rolling, confounding your reads throughout. There are five sets of tees from 4,844 yards to 6,811 yards at the tips; the middle tees play to 6,069 yards, 70.0/131, course/slope ratings, designed by Arthur Hills in 2000.
