Mistwood is in Romeoville off I-55 at Renwick Road east of the Lewis University Airport about an hour from downtown Chicago.

The layout is a links style design journeying along contoured and mounded, fescue lined fairways, and pot, conventional, and sod walled sand bunkers positioned along the landing zones and greens. There's a scattering of stands of trees at the fairway's margins and and water in play on almost every hole including five holes wrapping around a large lake. It was originally designed by Ray Hearn with five sets of tees overall, the middle Black tees play to 6,396 yards, 72.1/138, course/slope ratings.
