Monument Shadows is on the southwest side of Scottsbluff in Gering with the view of the Scottsbluff National Monument its dominant feature.

The golf course is an interesting parkland layout winding along broad fairways defined by trees partially through a residential development. There's water features in play on half the holes and sand bunkers defending many of the greens and the occasional fairway. It measures 6,870 yards from the back tees, 72.1/123, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Patrick Wyss in 1976.
