Northwood is on the west side of Rhinelander on US 8 in northern Wisconsin about 3 1/2 hours north of Madison.

It's an appropriately named golf course as it's cut literally through the north woods of Wisconsin along confining, tree lined fairways in a totally natural setting. The layout has hilly and sloping fairways with water in play on potentially seven holes and moderately bunkered fairways and greens. From the back tees it's 6,724 yards, par 72, 73.1/140, course/slope ratings from the tips with three shorter tee boxes, designed by Don Herfort in 1989.
