Old Beau is a mountain style course located southwest of Mt Airy in Roaring Gap off US 21 to the east high in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The golf course is very entertaining with 1,500 feet in elevation change over plunging fairways producing every combination of lie. The layout was carved through the forest over a large tract of land with isolated and unique fairways, elevated tees and greens, several water hazards, and sand traps along the fairways and greens. From the championship tees the course is 6,565 yards, 72.0/130, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Billy Satterfield in 1990.
