Cedarbrook is on the north side of Elkin off I-77 at exit 83 in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The golf course is a traditional layout roaming along tree lined fairways over rolling hills. There's mix of narrow corridors carved through the woods along with open fairways bordered by scattered trees. In terms of hazards, there's Cedarbrook Lake and a pond along with a generous amount of sand bunkers especially securing the greens. The back tees are 6,873 yards with a 130 slope, the white tees are 6,374 yards, 70.7/126, course/slope ratings, designed by Ellis Maples.
