Cedarbrook is on the north side of Elkin off I-77 at exit 83 in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The golf course is a traditional layout moving along tree-lined fairways over rolling hills. It has a mix of narrow corridors carved through the woods and open fairways bordered by scattered trees. In terms of hazards, there's Cedarbrook Lake and a pond, along with a generous amount of sand bunkers, especially securing the greens. The back tees are 6,873 yards with a 130 slope, and the white tees are 6,374 yards, 70.7/126 course/slope ratings, designed by Ellis Maples.
