Quaboag is a 9-hole golf course between Springfield and Worcester south of the Mass Pike at the Palmer exit.
The course is a classic and well preserved, traditional layout from the early 1900s. There's an abundance of uphill, downhill, sidehill lies and blind shots, bluebird boxes and picket fences-it's a bit of a step back in time. The greens are bentgrass, the fairways Bluegrass, and while it's open at the landing areas, heavy rough awaits at the borders. It's a true test of golf and a quality experience in a scenic setting even though it's only nine holes. It can play to 2,880 yards, par 34, 33.6/116, course/slope ratings from the back tees, but has a couple of par 4s over 430 yards and a par 3 of 225 yards.
