The Ranch is located 30 miles southwest of Springfield and 30 miles northwest of Hartford.

The layout is in the rolling foothills of the Berkshires surrounded by forests and dairy farmland. The course is interesting with several water hazards in play and numerous doglegs with fairways open at times and bordered by trees on others. The greens are guarded by deep, sculptured bunkers with several located in coves surrounded by trees. It was designed by Damian Pascuzzo in 2001 and plays to 7,174 yards, 75.0/139, course/slope ratings from the back tees with three shorter tees.
