Railwood is on the east side of Jefferson City, east of the Missouri River in Holts Summit.

The golf course is a traditional layout winding along tree-lined fairways over a modest change in elevation in a scenic setting without homes or development along the course. There are broad and narrow fairways, slight doglegs, a modest amount of sand traps and water hazards, and generous greens. From the middle tees, it plays to 6,244 yards with a 66.3 course rating and 113 slope, designed by Larry Flatt.
