Rainmakers is 15 miles northeast of Ruidoso at 7,000 feet in elevation in a scenic setting on a large tract of generally undeveloped land with unique and isolated fairways.

It's routed over a rolling tract of land through desert scrub and along pinion pine tree lied fairways in a Audubon Sanctuary. It's an interesting layout featuring arroyos, rock outcroppings, canyons, and native vegetation in the Sacramento Mountain's foothills. There's five sets of tees overall with the Blue tees playing to 6,408 yards, 70.5/135, courses/slope ratings, designed by Robert Trent Jones II.
