Sodus Bay Heights is halfway between Rochester and Syracuse on the Great Sodus Bay of Lake Ontario.

The golf course lumbers over tumbling terrain and along constricted and broad, tree-lined fairways just off the Bay. Constant winds off Lake Ontario impact play in addition to water hazards on four holes, with the mid-sized greens well protected by sand bunkers. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,682 yards, 72.9/135 course/slope ratings with four shorter tees. The course originated in the 1920s and was expanded and redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Geoffrey Cornish over the years.
