Sodus Bay Heights is halfway between Rochester and Syracuse on the Great Sodus Bay of Lake Ontario.

The golf course lumbers over tumbling terrain and along constricted and broad, tree lined fairways just off the Bay. There's constant winds off Lake Ontario impacting play and water hazards on 4 holes with the mid-sized greens well protected by sand bunkers. From the back tees the course plays to 6,682 yards, 72.9/135, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees. The course originated in the 1920s and was expanded and redesigned over the years by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Geoffrey Cornish.
