Wayne Hills is between Syracuse and Rochester on the north side of the New York Thruway in Lyons in the drumlins of the Finger Lakes Region.

The layout is a parkland-style design and roomy off the tee, traversing tree-lined fairways, numerous ponds, and minimal sand bunkers except around the greens. It was designed by Lawrence Packard and plays to 6,869 yards from the championship tees, 73.2/131, course/slope ratings, and five sets of tees.
