Wayne Hills is between Syracuse and Rochester on the north side of the New York Thruway in Lyons in the drumlins of the Finger Lakes Region.

The layout is a parkland style design and roomy off the tee traversing tree lined fairways, numerous ponds, and minimal sand bunkers except around the greens. It was designed by Lawrence Packard and plays to 6,869 yards from the championship tees, 73.2/131, course/slope ratings with a total of five sets of tees.
