South Lakes is southwest of downtown Tulsa on the west side of the Arkansas River bordering the Jenks airport to the south.

The golf course is a traditional layout with trees defining the fairway corridors over level terrain. There's seven ponds/lakes in play in addition to sand bunkers positioned primarily around the contoured greens as hazards. It's not a long course at 6,413 yards from the tips, 70.7/119 course and slope ratings with two shorter tees, designed by Randy Heckenkemper in the late 1980s.
