The Summit Country Club is about 20 minutes west of Altoona off US 22 at the Admiral Peary exit in Cresson.

The course lumbers through the woods atop Cresson Mountain in the Laurel Mountains along separate and isolated corridors. There's hilly and sloping fairways, numerous blind shots, elevated tees and greens, well defended by sand traps, Bradley Run bisecting the layout in addition to two ponds, and a rather awkward finish on the uphill 18th. The course tips out at 6,748 yards, 72.4/137, course/slope ratings, the white tees play to 6,342 yards, 70.8/132 with two shorter tees, the original 9 hole layout from the 1920s was redesigned and a new nine added by Ed Ault.
