Copper Valley is located 45 minutes east of Stockton in Copperopolis in the foothills of the Sierras partially within a resort/residential development.

The golf course is over varying degrees of rolling terrain with the fairways and greens bordered by tall native grasses, wetlands, lakes, sand traps, and oak trees. The golf course was designed by Carter Morrish/Tad Buchanan in 1996 and plays to 6,826 yards from the back tees, 72,9/136, course/slope ratings with six shorter tee boxes.
