The Preserve is located north of I-10 between Gautier and Biloxi and is part of the Palace Casino group.

The golf course was built on a 245-acre tract of land surrounded by the Sandhill Crane Refuge and Conservancy, with the Old Fort Bayou at the edge of the course. This is basically wilderness with a golf course routed through it, and it isn't unusual to see deer, hawks, and, of course, cranes and other migratory birds. The course is without development; it is just golf and nature with views over the preserve and marsh from the elevated tees. It was designed by Jerry Pate and plays to 6,774 yards from the tips, 72.6/138, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees.
