The Quest is on the west side of Houghton Lake, just off US 127.

The golf course is a parkland layout traversing narrow, tree-lined fairways over rolling hills. It's not quite a target course, but accuracy wins over distance here with various isolated, unique, interesting holes. There are water hazards in play on eight holes, as well as the creative use and variety of sand bunkers, especially around the ample, undulating, and tiered greens. There's also a practice facility including a full grass driving range, two putting greens, sand bunker and chipping area. It was designed by Ken Green in the mid-1990s with five sets of tees from 5,025 to 6,782 yards, the White tees are 6,027 yards, 69.2/123, course/slope ratings.
