The Ravines is west of Lafayette on Division, surrounded by farmland and forests north of the Wabash River.

The course's layout is straightforward, with scattered tree-lined fairways over land with a slight change in elevation over a natural tract of land with homes along a few holes. There's a modest amount and variety of sand bunkers along the fairways and greens, and several water hazards are in play. It has four sets of tees from 5,247 to 6,899 yards; the whites are at 6,173 yards, 69.0/114, course/slope ratings designed by Dwayne Daymeyer.
