The Timbers is just east of Frankenmuth off I-75 at Birch Road.

The golf course has a scenic layout and setting, aptly named as the fairways are lined with tall timber. The layout meanders over relatively level land along natural borders and numerous doglegs, with water features in play on half the holes and well-bunked fairways and greens. It was designed by Lorrie Viola and is 6,631 yards from the tips, 72.7/133 course/slope ratings, and three shorter sets of tee boxes.
