The Tribute is north of Dallas in The Colony flowing over a peninsula jutting out into Lewisville Lake.

The layout is a combination of holes from the links courses of Scotland including St. Andrews-the Road Hole, the Postage Stamp at Troon, Carnoustie, Moray, Nairn, Prestwick, and Royal Dornoch among others. The course is links style design over mounded fairways with tall fescue grasses bordering the landing areas and well bunkered fairways and greens. Also adding to the interest, each hole has tee markers which identify a historical element relating to the particular hole. It plays to 7,002 yards, 73.2/128, course/slope ratings from the championship tees with five shorter tees, designed by Tripp Davis.
