The Yale Golf Course is carved through a old growth forest over rocky terrain on the west side of New Haven off the Wilbur Cross at the Amity exit to the south
The 1926 design was a collaboration between Charles Blair Mcadonald as consultant and Seth Raynor as the lead architect who was paid $7,500 for the project. The layout features a collection of unique hole designs from Scotland including the Redan of North Berwick, the Road Hole from St. Andrews, and the Alps from Prestwick among others. It features generous, undulating greens, cavernous sand bunkers, broad fairways, and blind shots from off the tee to approaching several greens. From the blue tees it will play to 6,409 yards, 70.5/139, course/slope ratings with one longer and two shorter tee boxes.
