Timberstone is is located in Michigan's UP 2 hours north of Green Bay on the north side of Iron Mountain on a large, forested tract of land.

True to its name, the golf course lumbers along old growth forest and iron ore and granite lined fairways over varying degrees of elevation changes in a quiet, scenic setting. The fairways are generous, water hazards come into play on six holes, and there's sand bunkers defending many of the greens and the occasional fairway. It's challenging at 6,938 yards, 74.3/150, course/slope ratings from the tips with five shorter tees, designed by Jerry Matthews.
