Ventana Canyon is 30 minutes north of downtown Tucson located off Sunrise with two 18 hole Tom Fazio layouts within an upscale, residential and resort, hotel development. The Mountain course features the "most photographed hole west of the Mississippi," the 90 yard par 3, 3rd hole from the top of a mesa to the island green on another small mesa.

Both courses journey over the craggy foothills and desert brush of Santa Catalina Mountains with a variety of interesting holes and constant views of the Tucson Valley and mountain ranges. The fairways are generally broad off the tee and bordered by native trees over rolling terrain with a myriad of sand bunkers along the landing zones and defending the greens. The Canyon course winds through Esperro Canyon and alongside Whaleback Rock and is slightly more open and forgiving than the Mountain. Yardage, course/slope ratings from the tips four shorter tees, Mountain is 6,898 yards, 73.2/145, course/slope ratings, the Canyon course is 6,836 yards, 71.8/137.
