Wahconah is east of Pittsfield between Windsor Road and North Street, meandering through a natural area along the Housatonic River and the Cleveland Brook

The golf course is bordered by the River, which traverses the layout along various narrow and open, tree-lined fairways with modest, crowned greens well protected by sand bunkers. The setting is in the hilly Berkshires and scenic without homes or development along the layout, with the River and multiple ponds in play often. The front nine was designed by Wayne Stiles in 1929, and the back Geoffrey Cornish measuring 6,553 yards, 72.5/135, course/slope ratings from the back tees with three shorter tees.
