Wildcat is 30 minutes northwest of Cedar Falls in Shellsburg, which is partially bordered by a small residential community.

The layout is an open parkland design with scattered trees defining the fairways, numerous ponds and Bear Creek in play on half the holes, and minimal sand traps. Designed by Mark Kerr, it's a short layout at 6,354 yards from the tips, 70.2/121 course/slope ratings, and three shorter tees.
