Antlers is located on the southeast side of Johnstown, north of the Mohawk River, roaming over a natural tract of land.

The golf course is a classic, parkland design along narrow and rolling, pine tree lined fairways and a shot maker's layout. There are minimal sand traps, but several ponds and a pesky creek traversing numerous holes and small, oval greens add to the challenge. There are three sets of tees overall, with the tips playing to a par of 71 at 6,170 yards, 70.8/138, and course/slope ratings, designed by William Tucker in the early 1900s.
