Big Oak is on the north side of Geneva off Lyons Road at Packwood surrounded by farmland and forest.

The course is a scenic layout along narrow, tree lined fairways for the most part with multiple water hazards but little in the way of sand traps, and modest, raised greens as targets. It's only 6,125 yards from the blue tees, 69.0/117, course/slope ratings, par of 70 and two shorter tees, designed by Jim Logue and Lloyd Aiken.
