Bowes Creek is an hour from the Loop in Elgin, Kane County, off I-90 at State Street to the south, partially bordering an upscale residential community.

The generally natural layout provides a mix of links and traditional, parkland-style elements along rolling, expansive fairways. It's a challenging shot-makers test, with the ponds, wetlands, and lakes produced by Bowes Creek and an array of shapes and styles of sand bunkers the dominant themes. From the tips, it's 6,917 yards, 73.2/142, course/slope ratings. The white tees are 6,120 yards, 69.3/133, and designed by Rick Jacobson.
