The Highlands of Elgin is a municipal golf course located west of the Fox River in Elgin, off I-90 at the State Street exit.

The layout has scattered trees along the broad, mounded fairways bordered by tall prairie grasses. More than a liberal amount of sand traps abut the fairways and guard the greens, with multiple ponds, lakes, wetlands, and streams in play. There are five sets of tees. The Golds are at 6,365 yards, 71.1/130, course/slope ratings. Keith Foster redesigned the course in 2003 and added a new nine-hole course through a former stone quarry.
