Brandywine Bay is west of Morehead City, off NC 24, bordering a residential community.

The layout is along narrow, tree-lined corridors with numerous doglegs, water hazards on 14 holes producing numerous forced carries, and sand traps guarding the greens. It was originally designed in 1977 by Bruce Devlin and later redesigned by Ellis Maples in 2003. It can play to 6,227 yards from the tips, 70.6/131 course/slope ratings with three shorter sets of tees.
