Chardon Lakes is east of Cleveland, off I-271 on the south side of Chardon.

The golf course is a traditional parkland layout with trees lining all the fairways, streams, and ponds, affecting play on over half the holes, and sand traps primarily positioned around mid-sized, undulating greens. There are four sets of tees from 4,875 yards to 6,775 yards; the Silver tees are 6,186 yards, 70.4/129 course/slope ratings. Bert Way designed the original course in the 1930s, and Don Tincher and Carroll Bezler added another nine holes in the early 1960s.
