Eagle Ridge Resort is located 140 miles northwest of Chicago on a 6,800-acre tract of land. Its 63 holes of golf are scattered throughout the rolling hills and valleys of western Illinois.
The North course is a parkland layout above and along Lake Galena, traversing various terrain from rolling hills to open meadows with numerous water hazards. It was designed by Roger Packard in 1977 and is 6,875 yards from the tips, par 72, 73.2/135, course/slope ratings with two shorter tees.
The South course, also designed by Packard, has similar design and terrain features. It is cut through a valley of heavily wooded, rolling fairways with streams in play on 11 of the holes. It plays to 6,762 from the tips, 73.7/140, course/slope with three shorter tees.
The General climbs over the highest point of land on the property and has a series of elevation changes of up to 250 feet through dense forests bordering the Galena Ridge's limestone cliffs. The course measures 6,820 yards, 73.2/142, course/slope with three shorter tees, designed by Andy North and Roger Packard.
The East course is a par 34 short course of 2,648 yards, 33.0/117, course/slope ratings, and two shorter tees designed by Roger Packard. It's designated for beginners and juniors and ambles through tree-lined fairways along the limestone cliffs.
