Galloping Hill is in northern New Jersey in Union at the intersection of the Garden State and US 22 off exit 139A.
All the fairways are tree lined but open off the tee as it moves through rolling, natural terrain save for the holes bordering the Garden State Parkway. There's numerous water hazards in the form of ponds, wetlands, and the West Branch of the Elizabeth River coming into play frequently in addition to a liberal amount of sand traps scattered about. There's four sets of tees overall with the tips playing to 6,845 yards, 72.6/136, course/slope ratings. The course has an impressive pedigree of golf course architects who had a hand in the design including, in order of their work: Willard G. Wilkinson 1928: Robert Trent Jones 1949; Alfred Tull 1953; Stephen Kay 1998; Rees Jones 2013. There's also a nine hole, par 3 pitch and putt course as well as a significant practice/learning center.
