Genoa Lakes is south of Carson City off US 395, across from the airport along the lowlands of the Carson River through a residential community with two 18-hole layouts.

The Lakes course is a links-style layout over rolling fairways, with a couple of the holes moving up into the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Carson River runs through the course and comes into play on 14 holes, in addition to a healthy dose of sand bunkers. There are four sets of tees, the Blue tees playing to 6,050 yards, 67.3/120, course/slope ratings, designed by Peter Jacobsen and John Harbottle III. The Ranch Course is two miles from the Lakes course and moves over the Sierra Nevada foothills with over 300 feet in elevation change. Designed by the same duo, it will play to 6,310 yards from the blue tees, 69.5/125, course/slope.
