The Golf Club of Estrella is located in the southwest section of Phoenix in Goodyear south of the Gila River in the foothills of the Sierra Estrella Mountains.

The golf course is a challenging layout within a residential development through desert washes and terrain along contoured fairways. Elevated tees provide views of the seemingly narrow landing areas off the tee that in reality are somewhat open. Sand is the dominate feature here with massive bunker complexes interspersed along the landing zones and defending the greens as well as the natural desert borders. There's five sets of tees overall with the middle tees playing to 6,248 yards, 68.3/123, course/slope ratings, a Jack Nicklaus II design.
