Sterling Grove is in a residential community on the west side of Phoenix in Surprise off the 303 between Cactus and Peoria to the west.

The golf course routing is over generally flat desert terrain that has been enhanced by the addition of 1,700 trees which at maturation will line the fairways-a fairly unique design for Arizona. It features broad fairway corridors defended by water features and sand traps leading to undulating, massive green complexes with the nearby Tank Mountains as a backdrop, a Nicklaus Design Group layout.
