Grand Elk is about 2 hours northwest of Denver on the south side of Granby off US 40 to the west within a residential development.

It's a heathland course design which is essentially a links-style layout without an ocean nearby. The layout journeys through wetlands and prairie land over rolling terrain and is mostly forgiving off the tee with open approaches to massive greens. In terms of hazards, you can count on lakes, ponds, and wetlands in addition to an assortment of conventional and pot sand bunkers. There's five sets of tees with the Blue tees at 6,607 yards, 70.4/132, course/slope ratings, designed by Craid Stadler/Tripp Davis.
