Heron Lakes CC is on the west side of Mobile off US 90 just west of I-65 within a residential community with homes bordering seven holes.

The layout is over generally level terrain along fairways defined by pine trees with generous landing zones. There's 47 sand bunkers in play with water hazards along seven holes and modest, oval greens. There's five sets of tees from 4,960 yards to 6,860 yards with the middle tees playing to 5,953 yards, 68.2/112, course/slope ratings. It was originally designed by 1954 by Harold Stallings with a redesign by Earl Stone.
