The Indian River Golf Club is between Gaylord and Mackinaw City off I-75 at Indian River to the northwest.

The layout is carved through the deep woods on the east side of Burt Lake and follows the slightly rolling contours of a large tract of land. It roams over unique and isolated fairway corridors along a series of gentle doglegs with water hazards on six holes and 30 sand traps guarding the greens and the occasional fairway. It can play to 6,692 yards, 72.5/124, course/slope ratings off the back tees and includes four shorter tees, designed originally by Wilfrid Reid with a renovation by Warner Bowen.
