Kokopelli is northwest of Marion on the west side of I-57 at exit 548 built over a former coal strip mine.

The layout has a collection of interesting holes as it journeys over rolling terrain along fairways bordered by stands of trees. It's dominated by clusters of sand traps of differing shapes and sizes positioned at the landing zones and defending the greens in addition to several water features. From the back tees, it's 7,039 yards, 74.7/139, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, designed by Steve Smyers in 1997.
