Mauna Kea's Golf Course is in a classic Hawaiian resort on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island.

The course is roomy off the tee with ample landing areas and well over 100 sand bunkers along the fairways and guarding the greens. The routing is through a desolate tract of lava rock which borders the fairways providing a stark contrast with the black lava rock and the bright green fairways. It has one of the more famous par 3s in the world at the 3rd with a 200 yard carry across the Pacific to the green perched out on a cliff. From the Black tees it's 7,370 yards 76.6/144, course/slope ratings with four shorter tees, originally designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr, and renovated by Rees Jones.
